What is it? What does it mean?
You’ve probably heard the acronym: “OCIA” and
wondered what it’s all about. If so, you are not alone. OCIA stands for the “Order of Christian Initiation of Adults”.
It is for people who are not baptized, who want to learn about the Catholic faith.
It is for baptized Christians from other faiths
Interested in becoming Catholic.
It is for Catholics who have been baptized and would like to prepare for the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
At St. Lawrence, the OCIA journey begins in September, but we’ll be having a
General Information gathering on Thursday, August 29th at 6:30 p.m. In the Parish Library.
All are welcome: inquirers, sponsors, parents. If this is something that might interest you, please join us if you can. If you have questions please contact Jean Sousa or Deacon Geoff Ashman at [email protected]
